Cosmetic dental veneers are custom-made thin shells that cover the front surface of the tooth. Veneers are often used to improve the appearance of the teeth if they are:
- Stained or Discolored
- Misshaped or Crooked
- Have spaces between them
- Broken or Chipped
How it's done:
Two visits to your Waxahachie cosmetic dentist are usually required to place porcelain veneers. At your first appointment, preparation steps will be taken. We will trim a portion of the front of the tooth so the veneer can fit on top, take impressions of the tooth to send to the laboratory for final veneer creation and also place a temporary veneer to protect the teeth in-between appointments (if necessary).
At your second appointment, the temporary veneer (if you received one) will be removed. Following this, the permanent veneer from the dental lab will be checked to ensure fit. Any needed adjustments so that you and your doctor are satisfied with the look and the feel of the veneer will be made before it is bonded to the tooth.
